Minister Gajdoš holds talks with British Ambassador A. J. Garth

Today (21 March 2019), Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš held talks with the British Ambassador to Slovakia, His Excellency Mr Andrew J. Garth, at MOD Main Building. He expressed his appreciation for the SVK-UK Defence engagement thus far and highlighted the joint activities of both countries in the field of education and training.
 
Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš said: “The cooperation between the Slovak Republic and the United Kingdom has been at a high level in the long term, as evidenced by the jointly organised activities in the field of education and training for service personnel.” He went on to add that SVK personnel regularly participate in the joint exercises and courses delivered by the British Military Advisory Training Team (BMATT) at Vyškov (CZE), as well as in the courses taught by instructors of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) in Slovakia.
 
Minister Gajdoš informed Ambassador Garth about Slovakia following through on its commitments to NATO and the EU and the planned defence budget increases. The discussion also included the current modernization programmes and delivering on the 2030 Long-Term Defence Development Plan.
