Officer cadets training out in the field

Officer cadets are training out in the field at the Training Centre Lešť on 14-31 July 2019. 93 1st-year and 56 2nd-year cadets of the M. R. Štefánik Armed Forces Academy Liptovský Mikuláš (AOS), joined by 13 cadets of the Technical University of Košice and 17 cadets of the Defence University of Brno (UO), are taking part in the field training.
Col Ľubomír Matta, Deputy Commandant (Vice-Rector) for Military Affairs, AOS, said: “For cadets of both countries, this marks the first of a series of training experiences they will need as part of international cooperation in the future.” He highlighted the fact that AOS and UO instructors are supported throughout the training by experienced SVK Army instructors.
On the cadet field training programme, Maj Kristián Szuperák, Commander of Concentrated Field Training, said: “The field training is centred on developing basic all-arms capabilities, such as procedures for attack and defence, cadets will also go through strenuous movements in the field, and yet another area we are focusing on is Skill at Arms training.” He pointed out that 40 female cadets are taking part.
