Mobilization Exercise Prešov 2019, scheduled for 16-18 October 2019, will test the readiness of individual elements of the SVK Defence and Interior Ministries to perform the tasks of State defence when the state of war is declared and mobilization is ordered by the Slovak Armed Forces.
The aim of the mobilization exercise is to test the readiness of selected local state administration bodies and territorial self-government bodies in the Prešov region to execute tasks in a simulated state of war on declaration of partial mobilization and ensure coordination of tasks execution according to the mobilization plans.
The exercise will also test the system of calling up reservists to perform exceptional military service and other tasks that natural persons and legal entities are bound to do by law, especially when it comes to undertaking assigned duties and handing over material assets. As part of the exercise, the CSS Battalion Prešov will ensure in-processing of reservists and take over material assets.
The mobilization exercise will be supervised by the Defence Management, Armed Forces Development, and Defence Planning Department (SVK MOD), the Strategic Planning Staff (SVK General Staff), and the Crisis Management Branch (SVK Ministry of Interior) and will be attended by personnel from the County Offices in Prešov, Bardejov and Stará Ľubovňa, Higher Territorial Unit (VÚC) Prešov, Army Recruitment Team Prešov, CSS Battalion Prešov, and Slovak Post.
