"Our fellow colleague and friend Col Anton Tisoň passed away suddenly, without saying goodbye, at the age of almost 53 on 20 April 2020. They also decided to make use of the VPN mechanism to appeal to the public for financial donations for the surviving family.

Call for voluntary financial donations to support the family of the departed serviceman Cpl Husenica
In their letter to the Military Support Foundation, fellow colleagues of the departed serviceman Cpl Ján Husenica said, "Our wonderful colleague, Cpl Ján Husenica (39), member of the Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade Nitra, passed away on 19 April 2020. It is very difficult to find the right words and ways to ease the pain and sorrow of his family." They set out to help the close ones of Cpl Ján Husenica by issuing a call for financial donations through the Military Support Foundation, knowing that Ján leaves behind his loving wife Martina and two kids, aged 3 and 9, who find themselves without the breadwinner in a very difficult situation.
Born in Banská Bystrica, Ján Husenica joined the Armed Forces as a driver in 2004. He was a conscientious and responsible serviceman, had a way with vehicles, and saw his job as fulfilling. He was hugely helpful to less experienced colleagues and was willing to share his long-time experience in his specialty.
He deployed on numerous exercises, most notably, on AIR SHIELD, SLOVAK SHIELD and TOBRUQ LEGACY, where his work was acknowledged in numerous Letters of Commendation. For his role in the 75th Anniversary SNP Military Parade, he received a Letter of Commemoration from the Slovak Air Force Commander. His last mission as a serviceman was carrying out duties to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Ján was friendly, non-confrontational, he was always smiling, and a wonderful military professional who will be forever remembered in our hearts and minds. That is why we would appreciate if you could join us in helping his family," said members of the Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade Nitra in their letter to VPN.
Dear colleagues, military and civilian staff in Defence, let us help the family of our departed colleague in this very difficult time and show our togetherness by making a donation into the following bank account:
IBAN: SK29 7500 0000 0040 2028 3640
Thank you very much.
