Six military pilots and aviation specialists graduate from Aviation Faculty of Technical University in Košice

A graduation ceremony marked the completion of studies for six SVK Armed Forces cadets from the Aviation Faculty of the Technical University in Košice, with five of them passing with distinction. The ranks of the Officer Corps have thus been extended by new military pilots and aviation specialists who have found employment with SVK Air Force units.
Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “To the newly appointed lieutenants, I wish a successful start in their professional careers in the Armed Forces. I trust they will fully rise to the challenge of their roles and continue to represent our Armed Forces so well.” On this occasion, he praised the smooth cooperation between the SVK Armed Forces Academy in Liptovský Mikuláš and the Aviation Faculty of the Technical University in Košice, as a result of which the military pilots and aviation specialists study programmes are up and running again in Košice.
Among the lieutenants fresh out of university are three fighter jet pilots who, after taking up their duties at Sliač Air Base, are expected to undergo formal F-16 pilot training in the United States in a future period. Additionally, the Transport Wing Kuchyňa will be reinforced by a new female pilot, and so will the Air Operations Control Brigade Zvolen by a new air traffic controller (ATC). And a new specialist of the Maintenance Service will be posted to serve with the Helicopter Wing Prešov.
The education and training of cadets is delivered by the General Milan Rastislav Štefánik Armed Forces Academy in Liptovský Mikuláš in collaboration with the Aviation Faculty of the Technical University in Košice. The new lieutenants graduated as Masters of Engineering (MEng) in Air Traffic Control and in Sensors and Avionic Systems.
