Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď met U.S. Defense Attaché LTC Jakub Andrews as he reached the end of his tenure as U.S. Defense Attaché to Slovakia. During the meeting, he underscored the high level of the SVK-U.S. bilateral cooperation in the politico-military area and appreciated the significance of its strengthening even into the future. Subsequently, the head of the MOD received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Slovak Republic, Her Excellency Ms Adiyatwidi Adiwoso Asmady, at MOD Main Building. The meeting was dominated by issues of expanding cooperation between both countries in the field of defence and security and the developing COVID-19 situation, including the engagement of armed forces in the fight against the pandemic. The Ambassador was accompanied by the Head of Chancery and Political Section of the Indonesian Embassy, Ms Dian Priheryanti Havid.

During his farewell meeting with U.S. Defense Attaché LTC Jakub Andrews, Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “The Euro-Atlantic foreign policy orientation of Slovakia and especially its determination to cooperate and active participation in solving security challenges are a basic pre-requisite for handling them successfully. Of course, this is linked with essential cooperation not just at the bilateral level but also at the multilateral level. Therefore, it is important for us to continue looking for further areas of common interest in this field, whilst creating a space for their intensification.” On this occasion, the Minister thanked him for his cooperation so far and presented him the SVK Minister of Defence Commemorative Medal (2nd Grade).

The meeting between Minister Naď and Indonesian Ambassador Asmady was devoted to areas of mutual cooperation in the field of security and defence. “We have had longstanding friendly relations with the Republic of Indonesia since the days of Czechoslovakia. Therefore, I believe we know where to take our cooperation next, which Madam Ambassador and I agreed on.” The Minister updated the Ambassador on Slovakia's planned participation in the INDO DEFENCE 2020 EXPO in Jakarta. Topics of discussion included the MOD's priorities and delivery of commitments as part of international crisis management.
