Initial military training for future cadets is underway between 3 August and 18 September 2020 at the Training and Mobilisation Manning Base Martin. “We are now training a total of 153 cadets, of whom 39 are women,” said Cpt František Kantár, Commander of the Initial Military Training Company with operational experience from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Afghanistan.
On the initial training, Cpt Kantár commented: “Currently, the cadets are familiarising themselves with the Terms and Conditions of Service in the Slovak Armed Forces and are undergoing marching drills. This is to be followed by Skill At Arms (SAA). The initial training will conclude with tactical training and a three-day survival course.”
Speaking about their follow-on military education, Cpt Kantár said: “On completion of the initial military training programme with the Oath of Allegiance ceremony, 129 cadets will start their studies at the Armed Forces Academy in Liptovský Mikuláš, 14 cadets will study at the Aviation Faculty of the Technical University in Košice, and 10 cadets will be placed at the Faculty of Military Medicine in Hradec Králové.”
