Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď has today (16 September 2020) announced that Brig Gen Róbert Kleštinec, Deputy Commander of the Slovak Air Force, has been appointed as the new Director of Military Intelligence. The head of the MOD made this decision on the basis of set selection criteria the successful fulfilment of which by the candidate was a pre-requisite for taking on the role.

Indeed, the new Director meets the requirements and I believe my decision will be translated into tangible results of Military Intelligence as a whole.” Minister Naď further said that Brig Gen Róbert Kleštinec has successfully passed a full background check for TOP SECRET security clearance, which is required for the post.
