Ministry of Defence is looking for future defence ministers by offering MOD internships

The SVK Ministry of Defence wants to support the professional development of those college and university students who are interested in security and defence policy as well as developments at home and abroad. Under the slogan of “We are looking for the future defence minister!”, the MOD offers free internship opportunities. Those interested can forward their applications to staze@mod.gov.sk by 12 October 2020. Candidates are also required to send their motivational letter and CV in Europass format and choose a specific placement.

On the MOD Internship Programme, Defence Minister said: “During my studies at university, I, too, completed my internship at the Ministry of Defence, to be exact, with the then Defence Policy and International Relations Department. That’s why I know from my own experience that students welcome such opportunities for practical experience.” He continued: “We want young professionals in Slovakia to become subject matter experts and be of benefit to the defence and security of Slovakia in the future. Therefore, through the internships, I am taking responsibility for creating a space for them to gain experience and expertise directly from the centre – from professionals from across Defence.”
