The Ministry of Defence wants to continue cooperating with AFCEA Slovakia, a civic association which brings together professional communities to collaborate in advancing information technology, cyber security, and control and communication systems across the State administration, with emphasis on armed services. This was acknowledged by Director General of the SVK MOD's Modernisation Department/National Armaments Director Jozef Zekucia and President of AFCEA Slovakia Miroslav Brvnišťan as they signed a new Cooperation Agreement today.
National Armaments Director Jozef Zekucia said: “By signing the new Agreement with AFCEA Slovakia, the MOD has reaffirmed the nearly 20-year-long mutual partnership, the main aim of which has been to create suitable conditions for sharing information and solutions in the field of communications and information systems, information protection and security, cyber security and encrypted data protection. Of great importance is the fact that the Agreement has been concluded for an indefinite period, creating prerequisites to facilitate long-term and planned cooperation.”
The Cooperation Agreement allows members of AFCEA Slovakia to participate in armaments and R&D programmes, projects and activities, with focus on the provision of State defence in line with generally binding legal guidelines applicable in Slovakia, the European Union and NATO. It also creates prerequisites for cooperation on drafting proposals for systemic solutions to deliver the quality, stability and security of supplies for the needs of the Ministry of Defence. AFCEA Slovakia's events and activities contribute not only to fostering the professional development of SVK Armed Forces members, but also to continually improving the positive reputation of the SVK Armed Forces.
AFCEA Slovakia Civic Association is a chapter of AFCEA International, which has over 35,000 members, including 2,500 corporate members, all over the world.
