Minister J. Naď meets with Hungarian Defence Attaché Lt Col L. T. Leskó

Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď and Deputy Defence Minister Marian Majer received Hungarian Defence Attaché Lt Col László Tamás Leskó at the Ministry of Defence, as he takes over as the Hungarian Defence Attaché to Slovakia. Their discussion centred on the SVK-HUN defence engagement and the SVK MOD's priorities.

Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “The level of the bilateral cooperation between Slovakia and Hungary in the field of security and defence is very good. This is evidenced by the mutually active military and defence collaboration at both bilateral and international levels, including within NATO, the EU and the V4. I am convinced this trend will continue into the future.”

At the meeting with Lt Col Leskó, Mr Naď presented the planned investments into the MOD's modernisation and infrastructure programmes and Slovakia's international commitments with the pledge to reach the 2 per cent GDP spending goal by 2024. The meeting also provided the space for a discussion of the newly adopted strategic security and defence documents and the Action Plan for Coordination of the Fight Against Hybrid Threats.

The Minister and the Defence Attaché appreciated the existing cooperation on education, joint training, and military medical services, as well as the collaboration between the SVK and HUN Special Operations Forces (SOF).
