Ministry of Defence Accommodation Agency reduces carbon footprint with electric mobility

To reduce Defence's carbon footprint with the deployment of green technologies, the Ministry of Defence is gradually introducing a series of electric mobility measures at its defence establishments. The Ministry of Defence Accommodation Agency (BARMO) has installed an electric vehicle charging point (EVCP) at its service accommodation facility in Bratislava. In the coming days, the EVCP will be available to all guests and MOD military and civilian staff driving electric vehicles.

This pilot electric mobility project is being completed at the BARMO facility located at 12 Pri Šajbách Street, Bratislava. The 22kW electric vehicle charging point, which allows two vehicles to be charged simultaneously, will be officially launched on 18 October 2021.

A phased approach is being taken by BARMO, starting with the procurement of a first tranche of three electric vehicles due to be delivered into service in the first quarter of 2022.

In the near future, BARMO plans to go ahead with the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure at its sites in Trenčín, Žilina and Martin.
