In response to the unfolding situation in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces have raised the security threat level for all their facilities, in order to maintain the SVK military's high responsiveness. As taking photographs of military sites is strictly prohibited, the MOD calls on the public to refrain from any such unlawful action.
The Ministry of Defenceis is thus responding to an increased number of incidents involving breaches of bans, most frequently the ban on making audio-visual recordings of military sites. The MOD warns that the SVK Military Police is ready to act in such cases in coordination with the SVK Police Corps, consistent with existing legislation.
Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “I want to calm down everyone, because Slovakia is not faced with a direct military threat so far. I can assure you that we do not leave anything to chance – the increased security threat level for our installations comes part of our readiness. I hope the public will help us with this by respecting the rules.”
