MOD wants to support SVK defence industry at DSA 2022 in Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur

Next week, Deputy Defence Minister Marian Majer will be visiting the Defence Services Asia (DSA) Exhibition & Conference 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For the first time, the Slovak Ministry of Defence along with DMD Group, an MOD-owned joint stock company, will be joining other Slovak defence manufacturers in exhibiting at the leading defence and homeland security show.

Ahead of his trip to DSA 2022, Deputy Defence Minister Majer welcomed the Ambassador of Malaysia to Slovakia, His Excellency Mr Ikram Mohd Ibrahim to the Slovak Ministry of Defence on Thursday (24 March 2022). He declared Slovakia's interest in enhancing the level of SVK-MYS bilateral cooperation and fostering closer defence ties between the countries.

Deputy Minister Majer said: “We welcome any suggestions to develop our cooperation to the benefit of strengthening the defence capabilities of both countries and supporting our domestic defence industries. Exhibiting at international defence equipment shows opens up the doors to Slovak defence businesses, while helping them break into foreign markets and establish collaboration in driving technological innovations and exporting off-the-shelf products.”

As part of his official programme in Kuala Lumpur, Mr Majer will also hold talks with his counterpart Dato' Sri Ikmal Hisham bin Abdul Aziz from the Malaysian Ministry of Defence. This will mark the first highest-level meeting between representatives of the Slovak and Malaysian Ministries of Defence.
