Deputy Defence Minister Marian Majer travelled to Paris to visit and tour the EUROSATORY 2022 Defence & Security Trade Show. He did so to support the Slovak defence companies exhibiting in the SVK Pavilion at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre.
Deputy Defence Minister Marian Majer said: “The products and innovative technological solutions of the exhibiting Slovak companies confirm our defence industryʼs potential to participate in projects and initiatives of international significance. Defence trade shows of this format offer an opportunity for our Slovak businesses to make themselves more visible and forge new partnerships.” As he reminded us, the SVK MOD's priority is to get the domestic defence industrial base involved in delivering the state's defences as much as possible.
The EUROSATORY Defence & Security Trade Show has a 50-year-long tradition. Over this period, it has grown to become an important international security forum that brings together manufacturers of land and air defence equipment, government delegations, national armed forces, industry, and academics.
This year, 1,800 exhibitors from 60 countries showcased their latest products in the exhibition centre's pavilions with 80,000 square metres of exhibition space. A number of leading SVK defence companies attended the event, including KONŠTRUKTA-Defence, Aliter Technologies, NIXUS and METRODAT.
Visitors to the exhibition were treated to an exceptional display of military vehicles (main battle tanks, armoured fighting vehicles, armoured carriers), light weaponry, advanced communications systems and drones. This year's trade show, which takes place biannually, was opened by French President Emmanuel Macron.
