A new modern exhibition hall to house large-sized military exhibits will be constructed at the Military History Museum Piešťany. The exhibition gallery will feature military hardware from 1945 to present. The €4.07m construction procurement project, to be carried out in 2022-2024, has been approved today by the SVK Cabinet.
As well as ensuring better safety and security of 75 valuable large-sized objects and a higher level of visitor comfort, Director of the Institute of Military History Col Miloslav Čaplovič welcomed the new exhibition spaces, saying: “The new hall will improve the care for the Museumʼs collection objects and the forms of their presentation to the public. It will also be interesting to see our experts restoring the unique exhibits to their original splendour.”
Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “Our real support is clearly visible. The Military History Museum Piešťany is just a case in point. It is there that three exhibition halls have already been refurbished from MOD funds and I am delighted that a brand new, modern exhibition hall will be the latest addition to the Museumʼs facilities.”
