Speaking ahead of the V4 Defence Ministers Meeting in Slovakia, Minister Naď said: I believe this regional forum is capable of making a contribution to solving challenges in the European and Euro-Atlantic area

Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď will welcome his counterparts from the Visegrád Group to the V4 Defence Ministers Meeting in Banská Bystrica this afternoon. Slovakia holds the V4 rotating presidency till June 2023. As the V4 presidency holder, Slovakia is leading on individual V4 themes.

With his colleagues and members of the CZE, HUN, POL and SVK Delegations, Minister Naď will, therefore, be paying attention to the security situation regarding Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the reinforced defensive positions on NATO's eastern flank, and the exchange of expertise on hybrid operations by foreign actors.

Speaking ahead of the V4 Defence Ministers Meeting, Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “I am convinced that during this period of insecurity when Europe is faced with a number of security challenges, the Visegrád Four (V4) as a regional forum is capable of making a contribution to solving them. Therefore, events like this one in Banská Štiavnica are an excellent opportunity to discuss issues of our common interest in more detail."

According to Minister Naď, the Slovak V4 Presidency Priorities will be addressed at the meeting. Apart from the provision of assistance to Ukraine, one current priority is taking the V4's defence cooperation flagship projects such as the V4 EU Battlegroup (V4 EU BG) and the Joint Logistics Support Group Headquarters (JLSG HQ) forward. Other priorities include intensifying interoperability between the V4's armed forces and developing infrastructure in support of military mobility.
