Minister Naď meets with Czech Deputy Defence Minister Jan Havránek

Meeting at one of the most significant security conferences in Europe – GLOBSEC 2021 in Bratislava today (15 June 2021), Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď and Czech Deputy Defence Minister Jan Havránek held bilateral talks on current defence and security issues, plans and visions for the modernisation and development of armed forces.
Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “For both countries, our common themes, active interest in enhancing cooperation, and, above all else, values-based and regional closeness create an outstanding opportunity for a purposeful and coordinated elaboration of defence and security themes at the EU, NATO and V4 levels.”
On the personnel exchange and training programmes, Minister Naď highlighted the posting of two SVK Armed Forces members to the Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Centre of Excellence (JCBRN Defence COE) in Vyškov and the Multinational Logistics Coordination Centre (MLCC) in Prague, and the work of Czech military personnel assigned to the NATO Force Integration Unit Slovakia (NFIU SVK) in Bratislava and the NATO Explosive Ordnance Disposal Centre of Excellence (EOD COE) in Trenčín. He also praised the programme of SVK-CZE military training and exercises, both regional and international.
