The Ministry of Defence has filed a criminal complaint against Marián Kotleba MP and Milan Mazurek MP over the spread of hoax news – just as Minister Naď announced yesterday on a social network site. The subject of the complaint, filed with the District Prosecution Office Bratislava I, is the MPs spreading false and misleading information on the development and use of the MOVIR system in their videos released into the public domain.
Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “These gentlemen have decided to seize the attention of trustful people. Through their fabricated constructs about the concentration camps where people are reportedly placed by the Ministry of Defence, they are misleading members of the public for the purpose of intimidating them. I will not allow the inexperts’ desperate attempts to achieve sensation and obtain public preferences to damage the reputation of our country and the public’s trust in the Slovak Armed Forces. In no way is the SVK MOD going to set up any camps for unvaccinated people, nor is it introducing a “totalitarian regime” in Slovakia, let alone a ”new world order.”
To set things right, Mr Naď revealed that the Training Centre Lešť is participating in the MOVIR project for the purposes of research into integrating unmanned air systems (UAS) into the Training Centre-wide area protection system. In no way is the system intended for use against SVK citizens. “The Training Centre Lešť is a closed military training area (district), which is not accessible to the public,” he explained.
Drawing attention to the spread of fake news, Mr Naď said: “Over 76,000 shared links point to the current level of public resilience against disinformation. That said, I wish to call on all those concerned not to be inclined towards populist and baseless statements and keep from spreading unverified and clearly false information which may influence people and their actions seriously and mostly negatively. Let us not hurt each other – let us not fill the Internet and people's minds with hatred fuelled by lies of the men who deny the Holocaust.”
